So living in the Country has been something that I have dreamed of most of my life. Waking up to the sounds of nature awaking each morning is one of the most amazing things I have expierenced. My love of living in the country started when I was a kid following my Grandfather around his horse farm. He raised standardbreds and beef cattle and going to the barn was one of my favourite things to do! My brother and I would stand back and watch him let the horses out and get excited and scared when they would come running by. We would also help him muck out the stalls thinking that our help was the best help.....We could never seem to keep up with him, or even come close. There were so many great things we would learn about hangin on the farm. We would learn about hard work of taking in the hay and then stacking it in the hay loft....We watched kittens being born and named every one of them and sadley learn about death when we would head back out and one or two were missing. That was all the start of my love for country living. When I was around 10 years old I had a class project on what I wanted to do when I grow up.....My answer.....Have a farm and raise horses.
I have had a number of jobs over the years and many included working on farms. I became a Realtor in 2002 and in 2005 stumbled upon a property that I instantly fell in love with. It was a home on 10 acres in an amazing location in Caledon. The house was built in 1974 and in original condition. It seemed to me to be the perfect fit for what I had been looking for me whole life. I knew going into it I would have to update it and OMG did I ever.
When you live in the country there are things that "city folk" could never even imagine. The sound of baby raccoons was one of the biggest things which shocked at 3am......It sounds like little girls screaming!!! My time on Centreville creek has be one of the fondest of my life. I have met the woman of my dreams, Timea, and she has giving me the best present I could ever ask for, my beautiful daughter Sofia. I have expierenced so much in my 10 yrs on the farm and it has made me a better person. Not everyone can say they have had cattle, horse, coyotes, deer or turkeys running around thier back yard. I have lived. laughed, loved here but now its time for Chapter 2! There are new expierences that we want to enjoy and new things in the world we want to see......I can't wait to see what amazing things life has for Timea, Sofia and myself! Here is a video to our piece of paradise!
